Search and Quick Navigator
Filter. Every list and every project has its own search field (in the toolbar on Mac and iPad). The filter only applies to the current list.
Quick Navigator. From the main screen you reach the global search via the magnifier icon, on the Mac also with ⌘K. You can search for lists, projects, tags, tasks (title, note and attachment names) and settings. Results are grouped: lists, projects, completed projects, tags, tasks, completed tasks. A tap jumps straight to the target, for example the project that contains the task. If the target is in a different area, Focus one switches the area and shows a notice.
Special lists and filters
The Quick Navigator is more than a search. Without any input it shows a short list of lists, tags and projects. It also contains entries that don’t exist as a list of their own on the main screen. One tap on them immediately shows all matching tasks:
- All: the list with all your tasks at a glance
- Deadline: all tasks that have a deadline
- Reminders: all tasks that have a reminder
- With attachment: all tasks with attachments (only shown when the attachments feature is active, see Attachments)
- Tags: choose a tag to see all tasks with that tag
You also reach the standard lists such as “Waiting for” or “Someday” and the settings from here without a detour: type a few letters and choose the entry.
Tip: Want to know which tasks have a reminder? Open the Quick Navigator (⌘K on the Mac), type “Reminders” and choose the entry.
Create a task directly. If you type something, you can save the text as a new task in the Inbox at the end of the results list.
