Projects
A project is a collection of related tasks with a common goal. Projects are listed below the standard lists and are filtered by the selected area.
Properties: title, note, area, list type, active or inactive, activation date for inactive projects (they become active again automatically), review interval and, optionally, a project deadline.
The three list types
- Parallel (default): The order doesn’t matter; all tasks can be picked freely.
- Sequential: The order matters. Only the topmost open task appears in “Next”; after it is done, the next one moves up. Suited for recurring routines such as month-end closing or a vacation checklist. Sequential projects are a Pro feature. Without Pro, a project is created as a parallel one on import.
- Simple task list: A place for independent tasks. It cannot be completed.
Functions
- Complete: All tasks that are still open are checked off with it.
- Focus project: The whole app shows only this project (right-click on the Mac, long-press on iPhone and iPad, “Focus project”).
- Duplicate: A copy of the project with all its tasks (Pro).
- Headings: Structure the project list and can be collapsed. If you move a heading, the tasks below it move with it.
- Counter: On the project you see open and completed tasks, for example 5/3.
- Deadline: Tasks in the project inherit the project deadline.
