Areas
Areas separate your life and work areas, for example Office, Home, Club, Studies or IT. When an area is active, you only see its projects and tasks. The standard lists such as “Next” or “Waiting for” adapt as well.
Switching area
Use the area bar on the main screen (area switcher). On iPhone it is at the bottom, on iPad and Mac it is a bar at the edge. Areas marked with a star (favorite) have their own button; you choose all others from the submenu on the area icon. On the Mac, switch with ⌥⌘1, ⌥⌘2 … and use ⌥⌘0 for all areas.
Assignment
Every task and every project can be assigned to an area, but doesn’t have to be. Tasks in a project inherit the project’s area.
All areas
The “All” view shows everything together. Projects can be grouped by area there.
The Inbox applies to all areas
It is never filtered by area. Calendar events also appear across all areas.
Managing areas
You create, rename and delete areas with Edit Areas, and assign a color and a star. On iPhone you open it via the ellipsis icon (…) in the area bar; on iPad and Mac via the dedicated button in the area bar at the edge, on the Mac also with ⇧⌘A. If you delete an area, its tasks and projects are kept and simply no longer belong to any area.
Unlimited for free
Even the free plan has no limit on areas, projects and tasks.
