Import from Apple Reminders

Partly Pro

You can bring lists from Apple Reminders into Focus one. Tasks land in the Inbox or, with Pro, in projects of your choice.

Destination Inbox one project of your choice per list

How to set up the import

  1. Open Settings → Integrations → Import from Apple Reminders.
  2. Allow Focus one to access Reminders when the system asks. If access was denied, a notice appears with the link “Open System Settings for Focus one”.
  3. Free: Under List in Reminders, choose your list and tap Import now. The open items go to the Inbox.
  4. Pro: Under Lists and targets, choose for each list whether it is imported (“Don’t import”) and whether its items go to the Inbox or to a project. Projects are grouped by area, plus “No area”. With Import automatically, Focus one picks up new items when you open the app and whenever Reminders changes.
  5. Items with a date land in “Scheduled” with that scheduled completion date. Items without a date go to the Inbox (Free) or to “Anytime” of the chosen project (Pro). If the project is no longer available or has been completed, they go to the Inbox.

When Pro ends, the automatic import pauses. Manual import keeps working.

What happens to the originals?

So that an item is not imported more than once, Focus one marks the original reminder after the import. Under After import, you choose whether it is checked off or deleted in Reminders. If you want to keep your reminders, choose “Complete in Reminders”.

Tip

Start with one list, tidy up the Inbox in Focus one, and then decide whether to bring in more lists.
